You should work that with the transfer house. They may be able to work with the EDL or the pull list – the pull list may be your best bet since it will include camera roll, keykode, timecode, tape name, and all other needed metadata as needed.

Have you tried the FluidFilm preset to create true 23.976 sources with 2:3 pulldown? Takes its time, but it can look very good.

Correct, every subclip must points back to a master clip – there cane be a one to one subclip to master clip or multiple subclips to one master clip.

Have you tried a luma key?

  • And then you can always subclip the remaining clip to be V1A1A2 if you don’t want to deal with audio tracks 3 and 4 on the source clips.

What happens if you recapture using the offline resolution, do you get the same results as the original offline or is it off as well?

Were they both captured over FireWire or was the 15:1s done over 9 pin control and the DV25 being done via FireWire?

Depends on who is asking… EDL’s can be created in both 24 and 25 (and even 30 if needed). The OMF edit rate is 24 – Pro Tools will work at 24. Digital Cuts can be be made at 24+1 pulldown to maintain film duration on PAL video or sped up 4.1% to be 25fps. QuickTime export will be 24fps with no pulldown.

In most cases you have a choice – depends on where you are in the workflow, who is asking, and what rate they can work at – discuss this with your audio post team and lab and you will be able to deliver whatever they need.
