Xpress Pro can capture DV25, DV50, and JFIF 28:1. It can play back 35:1 and 14:1. You should be able to recapture as DV25 if a higher quality capture is needed. Media Composer software allows for 1:1, 14:1, and 35:1 capture.

There are no renders with ScriptSync – the process is to synchronize text from a script or transcript to the audio from the dialog in the clips. Once the association is made, it is not but references to the sources from a single interface of all your dailies. Have you watched the flash videos of the process?

Are you working from 24fps source in either a 29.97 or 23.976 project or vice versa? It almost sounds like a .1% drift over the course of the two hours…

Load clips in source monitor, pick reference frame. Go back to frame view in bin, select ALL then hit the “Q” key (go to Mark In). All frames will update to that frame.

Or… select ALL or just clips you want to update and hit the 2 key to advance by 10 frames at a time.

Media Composer has the same HQ button. Open up the Effect parameters and see if it is active.

You can odo the real time version, but he HQ setting on the resize (high quality) takes its time as part of the render process.

Then match project type to the format shot…

1080i50 is 1920 x 1080 25fps interlace (50 fields)
1080p/25 is 1920 x 1080 25fps progressive
1080i/59.94 is 1920 x 1080 at 29.97fps (59.94 fields)

etc.

Unity is designed to work with both Windows XP and Mac OSX clients. Call Avid support to get the right version numbers for Unity and the clients.

Make sure the timeline is active and go to PRINT. You can add frames to the timeline view or changethe view to just head frames or head and tail frames. Epand the timeline as needed to amount of detail desired.

The 16:9 flag for the DVD player is set in the encoder when creating the MPEG2 file. It may not suffice to just set the authoring interface to 16:9 if the encoder does not pick it up as part of the encoding process. The QT ref only sets the playback display to be 16:9 but there is no flag for an encoder to use.

Check your encoder settings for 16:9.
