    Yep, Thanks.
I’m guessing not much I’ll be able to do other than hit or miss with changing the seed. I’ll probably end up replacing some images manually.

    Hi,
    Thanks Greg,
I was hoping to avoid the two processes. I’m trying to find a happy medium using only the media encoder within premiere.

    thanks guys,
    Good ideas.

  • Yes, there’s quite a bit in the cache folder.
The avid exports an avid media folder with the avid media files, then it also exports a quicktime file that’s very small with a wrapper telling it to look at the avid media folder to play it back. My guess is it takes some time to do the conversion, or reading of those files.

  • Yes, it’s definitely not the script. When I simply import the files, its very fast, at first, but gradually gets slower until it freezes about 2/3s of the way through the 120 clips.

Yes, I know I can create my own. There was a preset layout that included all of the new tools (joint tools). I just can’t seem to find it anymore. Oh well.

    Hi,
I do get the Blackmagic AVI when I export. When I select that, the media encoder is launched, but there is nothing added to the queue.

    Hi,
I’m finally back in the office. I was not able to open your project in CS3. I was able to open it in CS4, but we are not working in CS4 yet due to other issues. Can you save your project in CS3? Did you notice anything that you can just explain that could be causing the problem?

    Sincerely,
    Mike

    Brian, Thx,
This seems to be exactly what I need, but when I turn on culling (I’ve tried both distance and offscreen), it doesn’t really reduce the render time at all. It still seems to calculate the hairs, even though they won’t be displayed. It doesn’t seem to be buying me anything.
