  • Just an update – I was able to get this to work with the retarget tag. It wasn’t necessarily a perfect transfer, but it was definitely close enough to do what I wanted.

  • I have 2 joint chains – 1 is an animation from mixamo which starts in a walking position. The other is a t pose from mixamo with the same joint Hierarchy. I want to use the walking animation, but I’d like to add clothes and other accessories to the model. I’m looking for a way to transfer all the joint position/rotation coordinates for each joint in the hierarchy from 1 to the other. By having this 1st keyframe as the T pose, it will make adding things like clothes after the fact easier. The transfer tool will only transfer the 1st joint. Making joint chain B a child of joint chain A will only move the entire hierarchy not the individual joints.

  • Thank You, still troubleshooting. I don’t see Render Queue settings either in the render queue or in preferences. I looked everywhere for that checkbox, and don’t see it. I’m not using Redshift on these projects.

    Hi,

Just to update, these Scenes don’t use Redshift, so I don’t think it’s a redshift issue. I’m actually now starting to lean to it being a non C4D issue. We recently moved all projects to shared storage on 1 drive, and it syncs and looks for changes all day. I’m thinking that actually might be causing the delay more than c4D. Gonna experiment with shutting off one drive for a few hours and see if it helps.

I never quite get the right look that way. I’ll keep playing around, see what I can come up with.

    Hi Brian,
I’m using X particles, no mograph. I’ve attached a simple scene. I know within C4D’s dynamics there’s a force setting to balance the dynamics vs the mograph motion.

Here I have particles travel along a spline, and I want them to not overlap, so I added x particles PP collision. It really looks like it’s just fighting the follow spline motion. If I turn follow spline off, the collisions work correctly.

    Hi,
One other thing that I notice is if the object with the external compositing tag is turned off when you save the .aec file, it doesn’t export. Check that, it gets me all the time.

    Hi,
I would guess the texture mapping method is something other than UVW. I’m also assuming the model you bought has been UV mapped. If it hasn’t, you would have to do that on your own. Doubtful though. It’s also possible the original model had textures applied to individual pieces, and each piece was individually UV mapped? maybe. Open up the UV tag, and check the UV’s that should tell you what’s going on. If you’re not familiar with UV’s, there’s a lot on this site about that.

Yes, saw that about the spline shader. It’s strange, because I have many more fonts on my home system than the render server, and this is the first time running into this. That issue aside, I will say since upgrading to V19, I rendered several scenes with lots of mograph in it, and I did not cache. The renders rendered fine. That’s a plus.

    Hi,
It sounds like you’re render settings output may be set to just 1 frame. Just change that to all frames.
Go to Render, edit render settings, and change the frame range there.
