matte keys and skipping frames
Hi all,
I have a strange issue, and hoped some folks would take a look at this. We have a timeline, and we are using matte keys for transitions. We have 2 video layers, a matte wipe layer, and an overlay. Pretty basic editing layout. When I step through the timeline unrendered, everything looks fine. Once I render the effect, frames are being dropped and previous frames repeated. Although it’s not horrible, there is a slight stuttering created. I’m not sure if the bug is with premiere, or with the blackmagic codec. It could also be a frame rate thing. Either way something is not right. I’ve created clips with just timecode numbers updating to better illustrate the problem. I’d love it if you’d like to take a look, someone might have some suggestions??
Our details : HP XW 8400, Windows XP Pro (SP3), 3gb RAM, Premiere Pro CS, Blackmagic multibrigde (v 7.2).

I’m finally back in the office. I was not able to open your project in CS3. I was able to open it in CS4, but we are not working in CS4 yet due to other issues. Can you save your project in CS3? Did you notice anything that you can just explain that could be causing the problem?Sincerely,

I only set the frame size to match the materials – from memory, by opening the New Sequence>General Tab and Setting it to Desktop Mode, then customizing the settings to match the materials. The DV preset is 720×480, but your clips were 720×480 so there was a scaling attempt in the timeline for that extra 6 pixels, somehow it made it go weird.
If you open in CS4 i think you can export the Sequence as an AAF. Then import that into CS3.
