It’s more than just showing keyframes. It is the keyframe editor so you need the scale to be able to manipulate keyframe values. In some ways it is not tall enough as I find it a bit twitchy when setting values and ease in out curves

What editing software do you want to use? If cross platform then I would be using PC hardware with a Decklink card. If you want to use FCPX, then you must use Apple hardware. Your software choice determines your hardware options

Alternatives are if you autosave there might be a version before you deleted linked audio. Also I get into the habit of doing daily backups of project files so you can go back and just have to redo some cuts

Not familiar with multicam, but you could try to duplicate your timeline (just in case it goes crazy) and try to relink. I doubt it will work but worth a try.

The software is the same regardless of OS. Keyboard is just the usual Apple key = CNTRL switch.

Did you unlink the audio from the video before deleting? If not you may have deleted the video track as well. One simple trick to avoid this is to delete audio on the Fairlight page as it ignores video linked audio files and won’t delete the video

If you want to use Macs then there is no debate. Your question was about the relative advantage of CPUs. My response was to point out GPU is the main game.
Your observations about Windows is also pointless debating too as you clearly have a bias that few here share. Resolve is also Linux compatible.
The ability to update GPU and other components during the life cycle of a computer is however relevant. MacPro offers a much better option in the Apple world. Overpriced? Perhaps.

I left the Mac world years ago so I don’t know the answer to this question but my understanding of Resolve is that for performance and render speed it is GPU dependent mostly. Personally I prefer a PC with a form factor that lets me upgrade GPU so I can take advantage of that without buying a new computer every two years. iMacs seem like totally the wrong form factor for Resolve to me but that’s just my opinion.

You can batch change the audio attributes. Select all the files you wish to set to dual mono and change the attributes of one and they all change. Resolve can’t tell from an imported file if it is true stereo or dual mono. I wish the default was dual mono as that is the normal config.
It helps to do it before you start editing. Just a bit of house keeping so if you drag a clip into the timeline it knows to put it across two mono tracks. I usually have a preset audio layout in Fairlight which sets up a lot of mono tracks and some stereo ones if there is something genuinely stereo like a music or atmos track.

Not sure about this version but RX7 works in Fairlight & Resolve. I’m sure there are plenty of host that support VST2 & 3 so there are likely many more compatible hosts. Not sure what the issue is with FCPX. I wonder how big the software team at FCPX is is these days. Maybe they are just slow to respond and will get around to fixing it.
