Are you editing your 24P footage in a 29.97 timeline? If so you will get an uneven, stuttery looking speed up or Slo-Mo. You’ll notice it more if you slow down the footage. If you want it to look as clean as it can be in FCP you should be editing at the native frame rate. There are other tools that do better slo-mo’s and speed ups. Boris BCC has the Optical Flow filter for FCP that looks good. AE 7 has improved on it’s speed motion. Twixtor comes to mind also.
