  • Media manager FIXED in 5.1 !!!!

Posted by Anders Haavie on March 30, 2006 at 7:17 pm

Looks like Apple has finally fixed media manager. The release notes says:

Processing offline clips: Selecting the Delete unused option no longer results in a new project in which offline clips are untrimmed, so you no longer results in a new project in which offline clips are untrimmed, so you no longer need to recapture the orinial media file duration

    and

Working with clips with speed changes: Choosing Create Offline and selecting ?elete Unused no longer results in sequences with gaps between edits.

There are 2 more fixes that are related to the mediamanger.

    FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY !!!

    It’s a MIRACLE.
That alone is going to be worth $50 to us.

Not correct…it is UNIVERSAL, which means it is for BOTH PowerPC and Intel Macs. The point of Universal Binaries is that it is one application that can run on both architectures.

BUT you need to get the full Universal version of the app. I just sent in my discs yesterday for the crossgrade offer.

i coud be wrong, but I seem to remember when v5 came out they said that no work had been done on MM at all

this is the first time to my knowledge that Apple have ever “officially” acknowledged that MM has/had bugs

it bodes well… but i’m firmly in the i’ll beleive it when i see it camp

Not so. When v5 came out Apple said at last year’s NAB that a lot of work had been done on MM. Subsequent updates had references to fixes to MM, including fixing the really bad freeze frame bug.

    All the best,

    Tom
