    In no particular order:

    Boris BCC (Effects and composites)
Magic Bullet / Magic Bullet Editor (Film Look)
Joes Filters (wide range of very practical and useful filters – a must!)
    Nattress Standards Converter (A must!)
    Nattress Film-Look
Eureka plug-ins (many nice ones are free)
DVDxDV (to convert DVD’s to QT format)
Digital Heaven “Box” plug-in (for easy picture in picture work) [See others there too, $10 each)

    This should get you started.

May 2, 2005 at 2:43 am in reply to: color corrections

If there are distinct changes in lighting set ups/color correction in distinct scenes, you may want to try razor blading and correcting each section, and instead of keyframing, you could add long (2-6 second) dissolves between the shots, which should smoothly mix the color correction from scene to the next – and since the dissolves will be over the original cuts, they will be invisible.

    Hi,

#1 – there’s an easier way – simply download the free ‘Vapor blur’ from Eureka plug ins.
    #2 – I believe it’s Bob Hoskins, not Anthony 🙂

Right – FCP HD doesn’t support HDV yet.

You can also try HDVxDV.com to import your footage – or wait a few weeks until FCP 5 ships, which does edit HDV native.

I use dropload.com – it’s a free service that lets you upload up to 100MB and an email will get sent to the recipient – and he/she can download it from there.

    Two catches:
    1. The file is only available for a week
    2. The file can only be downloaded by one person.

You should also check out streamload.com – they have a free service, too.

Rob, thanks for the heads up.

Apparently they are going to be releasing online or DVD tutorials for BCC on FCP.

Can you tell us when they’re going to be released – and where we can get hold of them.

    Thanks,

Personally, I’ve been able to execute excellent Keys in FCP on DV, so I don’t know what all the fuss is about.

But anyway, I also found that using the keyer in Boris BCC can also be a great tool.

    Dylan,

    Here’s the plug-in you need:
    https://www.chv-plugins.com/collclonepaint.html

It’s a cloner and I believe works very well.
