Thanks to all of you who took the time to write in.

    Walter,

    Hi,

May I ask, in your opinion, which is a better chroma keyer, Boris Continuum or ‘DV Matte Pro’ from DV Garage?

    Yours,

    Two amazing, free ftp sites:

    1. dropload.com
    2. streamload.com (limited free plans, & $ monthly plans available).

May 19, 2005 at 3:57 pm in reply to: Beta question.

Excuse the ignorace here, but if, as the original poster said, his source footage was coming off DVD, then would the problem be to run it through DVDxDV, edit DV, and take the Mini-DV to a post house to convert/bump up to Beta SP or DB for broadcast.

How much worse would the above look than going the uncompressed, DB route – considering the original was on DVD?

    Thanks,

    Hi Jerry,

This may be what you’re looking for:

If it’s just the audio you want to transition, then of course, you can alt-highlight just the audio tracks and follow the instructions above.

And if each clip is separated from the next, it should ‘ramp up’ up the audio as part of the transition.

    Hope this helps.

Much Kudos to Steve Martin & his Ripple Training team!

I agree that it would be very, very sad to ‘blow up’ a perfectly good G4, especially when there are thousands of community colleges, organisations, students, etc. who could benefit from it.

Funny, perhaps, but still a pathetic deed.

My advice to this guy: Spend less money on beer. Work hard. Save money.

And by the time he’s working on projects that would warrant an upgrade to G5, he should be able to afford one, like the rest of us.

And then, he can video-tape himself donating his old G4 to a school – and we’ll all be proud of him!

No such feature that I know of.

    You can start here, though:
