having trouble finding the best way to email a clip. it’s actually an animated map made in Curious, i tried compressing from there and non of the formats seemed to work, put it in FCP4.5 and tried multiple formats, still didn’t work. any suggestions? haven’t got into compressor with it yet, that’s the next step, just not to familiar with the program. thanks in advance to anyone with an answer.

We’ve been told that MPEG1 is a universal codec.

Yes, but MPEG1 will play in almost every viewer and it’s free.

Yes, but I believe the initial request for an email-able file.

Hmm, the only MPEG1 element I can find is in the VCD option in Toast.
Where else would I look? I can see MPEG IMX in the QT Conversion out of FCP5 but no MPEG1.

You can compress to MPeg1 through Compressor since version 1.2.

MPeg1 is superior in compatibility over multiple platforms. It may look like crap but a preview via e-mail usually doesn

When I send clips for approval to our sales team. I send the clip to our Art director. She places the clip into Cleaner and uses the Windows Media encoder set at MED 320×240. It ends up being small, but it look great.
