What version of XDCAM transfer are you downloading? What exactly is the problem?

The point of the filter is to remove or smooth stair-casing. I think what you are describing it should work for you but you should really test out the trial or send us the clip to look at.

Are the 7 clips that won’t import the same format as the others?

You can try dropping them in the avid Media Directory – Avid MediaFiles> MXF> (#)
Then try to access the clip through the Media Tool in Avid.
If it works, great. If not you’re probably stuck with the import.

Maybe try trashing the title 3d prefs.
The preference file isnamed “com.borisfx.Title 3D”.
It is located at: Macintosh HD :: Users ::
:: Library :: Preferences -

I think part of your problem here is you are using Red 3.
You might want to do a test drive of Red 4,
