  • Importing Convergent design flash nano MXF files

    Hi all,

I’m trying to figure out if there’s a quicker way for me to get MXF files created on a Convergent Design Flash Nano into Avid media composer V4.0.5. Currently, I can only do it by importing the files as I would any other type of file. However, as they are MXF files I was under the impression that there would be a quicker way to do this, i.e without the import process. I’m guessing I can just drag and drop the files into my Avid media directories but am unsure as to how I then get the project to reference them. Any one have any ideas?

    Many thanks.

You can try dropping them in the avid Media Directory – Avid MediaFiles> MXF> (#)

Then try to access the clip through the Media Tool in Avid.

If it works, great. If not you’re probably stuck with the import.

Yeah I’d tried that but no joy. Apparently the MXF files created by the nanoflash are not Avid compliant as they use Sony’s XDCAM codec. So yes it looks like I’m stuck with the import! Nevermind, not the end of the world!
