  • All of my After Effects Renders on my PC are rendered out as Quicktime Files using the animation codec I believe. I know Andrew Kramer mentioned it in his blog on http://www.videocopilot.net/blog. I think it was last month.

The only thing I recommend is to record yourself in front of a green screen and rotate the camera around you. Then key it out and match the camera moves either in AE or Cinema 4D. An even better solution would be to place track points to use a 3d tracker to copy the camera moves.

  • I am not familiar with 3D tracking so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I think I might know what’s going on.

The emitter position in particular is only x and y, there is another option for z position…

If you can develop an expression to link the x and y position data with the corresponding points on the tracking data, then use another expression for the z position to the z tracking data.

If it sounds confusing, it probably is so I recommend Andrew Kramer’s 3D Light Streak #2 Tutorial found at: https://videocopilot.net/videotutorials/nano2/

You could try to pre-comp the scene and nest it in another comp. Then just apply the effect. Then collapse the transformations.

Never tried what you are saying, but I think its worth a shot.
