The tape could be damaged. A better deck may play it better. I had a tape that was under water and I didn’t have that much problem with it. Try using the original device that recorded it.

    Hope this helps-

Not on mine, its never used more than a gig. It will typically only use 100 to 120% of the processors. Rarely it will use more but can go up to 350%.

    Hope this helps-

What version QT? Are you using an easy setup? Is this 24p? Is this DVCpro 25 or DVCpro50? Sounds like a background process or your setup has been altered.

    Hope this helps-

I’ve noticed audio video drift with DV converters most of the time. What are you digitizing? From what device? QT version, FCP version, hardware, we need more info to help.

The iMovie footage can be used in FCP. iMovie records video as DV streams not QT files. iMovie also records 32khz audio so when you import the files into FCP the audio will need to render. Other than that, the DV video is the same quality and totally useable in FCP.

Sounds like corrupt media. Make all media offline and relink it back a few at a time till you find the bad file or files.

March 7, 2006 at 5:15 pm in reply to: File Error: Access Denied when saving

I get the same thing. Well sharing a project is more complicated. I still have a version of the project in the shared folder, but everyone has to save their changes in their user first, then copy that to the shared folder. Overwrite the file in the shared and so on with each user. This is more of an OSX question. But this has been my work around.

    Hope this helps-
