[Jerry Hofmann] “One for each of your computers (up to 5?)… same as iTunes purchases.”
does it link to your itunes account? ie do the computers have to be the same ones that your itunes music is licensed to?

I’m wondering if 3rd party vendors will still have it. Seems kinda dumb to me to pull them. I’m going to need a copy come august/sept, but now i might just be forced to learn premiere for a bit till FCP X is up to speed.

[Tom Daigon] “Car analogy….
Yes it has a great engine and a transmission with a few gears missing. But it has no wheels.”
Lets use the car analogy. Yes it doesn’t have wheels yet. It’s a simulator. They gave you a simulator to learn to drive the car, and you’re complaining that it doesn’t have wheels.
You’re pissed because the wrote better software, but you can’t use it professionally yet. Even if it had all of the features you needed, you still wouldn’t be able to use it professionally because you don’t know how to use it yet. it’s new software. You might be able to stumble through a project. They released this so when it does have all necessary features, you aren’t starting from scratch, you’ve got a solid base b/c you’ve had it for a few months.

[Ben Holmes] “Sorry – this was a terrible idea. I actually wonder if you’ve posted this as a joke, or you work for AVID.”
Just looked. Member since June 21, 2011. Smells fake to me.

[alexander thompson] “I waited for the last week in the expectation I could finish this urgent promo vid on the new version, instead i download it in a hurry only to find I can’t import my project from FCP7. its actually a joke.”
I don’t mean this to be rude, but that’s sort of bad planning on your part. You can’t expect to finish a project on a program that hasn’t even been released yet. You plan to finish your project with the tools you already have available. And it sounds like you haven’t even been reading the stuff that was previously available about FCP X, b/c most people expected legacy projects not to open as this was a complete rebuild of the program…not an update. ie it’s an entirely new program.

A) you are new to the business and you want to learn
B) you have a client that will assure you that your new gear will be paid for, within the period of the job.”you forgot

But it’s people like you that make my answer a viable option. Many thanks, for many things.”You also forgot to mention how DRW’s sense of humor keeps things from getting too tenses.

[Stephen Bakopanos] “We’ve been told that FCP X will be released in June. Apple tend to release products on a Tuesday (and there’s only two left in June).”
Apple also tends to push back release dates without any real mention.

First thing I’m doing is checking to see if there IS an actual manual, and not just a quick guide and a terrible “FCP X HELP interface.” give me a damn PDF File.
