Posted by Rob Fourchalk on June 21, 2011 at 4:12 pmWhat’s the limited amount of downloads available with the purchase of FCP X?

June 21, 2011 at 4:24 pmOne for each of your computers (up to 5?)… same as iTunes purchases. I’ve got it running on a MacPro and my MBP right now. Installed without a hitch on both computers (only paid for one license). In fact I’ve opened on both at the same time.

does it link to your itunes account? ie do the computers have to be the same ones that your itunes music is licensed to?

June 21, 2011 at 4:49 pmWell, I just signed in to the App Store using my Apple ID, and clicked buy (boy that was quick and scary easy to do)… Once it installed on the first machine, I could install on the other without purchasing again.

June 21, 2011 at 4:51 pmHi Jerry – when you say (1) for each computer, would I be able to eventually download it multiple times onto one computer (different partitions running different os), and this would be included as the (1) on that particular computer.
Or would the (1) per computer be just that: one and done?
Thanks,
Rob

June 21, 2011 at 5:02 pmI read the license agreement, and it states that you can use it on your “computers”… I didn’t see a mention of limitation on how many… Might take a look at the license agreement, it’s pretty short actually.

Jerrry, I’m not sure I want to use it on even one computer much less several. 🙂

June 21, 2011 at 5:55 pmQuick question Jerry. I downloaded X with no problems to my new iMac, but I have an older MacBook Pro that has a 32-bit Intel Core Duo processor. Will FCP X not run on this Mac? Or will it run with limited functionality?

June 21, 2011 at 6:25 pmRead the minimum specs on apple’s FCP X site… see if your computer is compatible. I seem to be running it OK on an older 3 gig tower that doesn’t have a “supported Open CL graphics card”… the new laptop here is totally compatible. Haven’t run it enough on on the tower yet to see what i don’t get but hey, it seems to run OK. at least for learning.
