Slightly disappointing on Apple’s part – given all the “stay tuned for more information” comments. It looks as though it will just get released, pages on Apple’s site will get updated with less than detailed information, and then we’ll all be on here dissecting FCP X.

( No, i’m not hating on Apple…just an observation )

I doubt it will be a quiet release like, FCP X now available on the app store. If that is the case then I think it will come with a lot of product videos on Apple website.

All the trainers will have their take, Maybe Apple will also do that thing where they pull in some allstars in the film business who have been using the product to give it street cred from the get go.

I called the solstice earlier this month. I’ll stick with that.

Were all waiting and excited (yes even the naysayers) 🙂
Honestly dont care how its dropped as long as I can download and start using.
I have a few crazy old projects I want to test.
Will I use it for prime-time, maybe but honestly Im sure were all not going to un-install the old copy 🙂

I’m honestly wondering what’s going on with Apple’s marketing. I wouldn’t expect a quiet release either. Given today’s date I would have assumed the video trade being invited to a press event of some sort. Maybe after their experience with the SuperMeet Sneak Peek, they feel “quiet” will result in less negative controversy.

You won’t have to worry at all or make any difficult decisions if you prepare for the transition to FCP X and OS X Lion with a multi-boot configuration like the one I describe in my new tutorial: Prepare for a seamless transition to FCP X and OS X Lion

I agree. FCP is just too prestigious an item for Apple to do a quiet release. I think you’ll see a big dog and pony show before or after the end of the month…smoke and mirrors and magic…of the former, the usual ARDF, and some of the latter, too, if only to make the smoke and mirrors more believable. It’s the way all magicians would like to operate, especially the marketing ones.

    A show like this, perhaps: https://supermeet.com/ ??

If Larry Jordan intends on talking about or showing off FCP X, Apple are either making an exception to his NDA or they’re going to release it in the next 48 hours… If it’s the latter, then it will probably be on Tuesday 21st (Apple tend to release new products on Tuesdays), meaning we should have it in 36 hours or less…

Of course, it could just be the former, in which case it could be any time this month. Heck, it might even be next month if they decide to delay it.

Whatever they do, I just wish they’d hurry up and give us some information.
