January 31, 2011 at 11:52 pm in reply to: Wrong Aspect Ratio on Text Window

    Tom,

Well, of course, the Viewer becomes the active window when I select the Text generator from the popup. But even if the Timeline is the active window immediately prior to selecting the Viewer popup, I still end up with a 4:3 window.

Remember, in case it’s important, I am working in an anamorphic configuration. Still, I think there must be a way to get the correct aspect ratio in the Text Generator.

    Thanks,

    Martin

Sorry Jeff, got busy on other things today. Yes, it shows the sync issue when exported full on my computer or if sent to another. It’s not drift; it simply seems to be a couple of frames out. For my purposes at the moment it’s not enough to be problematic, but I’d like to know what’s going on before I have to export something of consequence.

[Bret Williams] “You must’ve been a user of (insert any edit app but FCP here) in the past!”

Leaving me with, I suppose, unreasonable expectations (you should see the list).

Ranting alone here in my edit room,

Jeff, it is when I export it as a QTRef that it appears to be out of sync. When I bring it back in it appears to be in sync. This is only a couple of frames, but there are a lot of talking heads so it looks bad.

November 24, 2010 at 11:12 pm in reply to: Importing Stills Longer than Two Minutes

User Preferences>Editing>Stills/Freeze Frame Duration appears to be just for setting the marks in and out on a freeze frames. For example, it’s default setting is 10:00 and if I freeze a clip I get a 2 minute freeze frame with a ten second in to out.

Am I looking at the wrong setting Paul?

November 17, 2010 at 6:33 pm in reply to: The selected window layout does not match…

I figured this out and thought I’d share.

At some point yesterday I must have accidentally used the key combination of OPT+CMD+D. This turns on or, in my case, off Dock Hiding. I typically keep the Dock hidden and my custom layouts use up all of the monitor space. When I turned off Dock Hiding my custom layouts could no longer fit in their configured space and so I received the message.

    User erringly,

October 15, 2010 at 11:50 pm in reply to: Log and Capture missing sidebar

    Chad,

The only clue I ever came up with is if I have fcp in full screen mode when I launch Log and Capture the tool tends to open in this screwy fashion. If I then close l&c, get out of full screen mode and then launch it again, I’m good. I honestly don’t recall if it ever comes up in other circumstances or if I found other solutions.

    Hope that helps.
