Gotcha, Shane. But it’s not a ton of footage. Am I better off converting the material to a ProRes compression first. If so, which?

    Thanks,

[Phil Balsdon] “You can capture HDV via firewire as ProRes.”

Yeah, I would have preferred that, Phil. But it came to me pre-captured.

    Thanks Shane,

Very interesting, if painful, reading. Glad to see it isn’t simply me. (simple me?). My question does remain, if I choose to first convert the files to ProRes, what flavor would be my best choice.

Downloaded, installed, tested, celebrating. Thanks Peter, Pan and Zoom works beautifully thus far (I’m the king of finding what an app or plugin can’t do). I’m gonna have to find something to spend money on at FXFactory, it’s so good.

    REally appreciate the help,

Thanks Peter. I just watched the tutorial and I’ll definitely try this out.

I’m assuming by “quadratic in/out acceleration,” you mean an algorithm that keeps long zooms from appearing to accelerate or decelerate? I’ve always found this to be one of the challenges with software-based motion control.

It occurs to me, btw, this is a special case. I’ve got several blocks of text for the second line of my third that are longer than what I put in the original template. Hmm.

[Stephen Smith] “Is the “smaller text” in another group that may be smaller then the other text?”

Man, you asked exactly the right question. At some point, without realizing I had done it, I resized some of the groups. I had stuff all over the place. I could tell this one was dumb user error, but I’m so new at Motion, I couldn’t figure out which dumb user error applied. Thanks, Stephen.
