  • I am having exactly the same problem.

Range selecting the clip and forcing a render doesn’t working. Deleting all my render files and shutting and opening FCP X doesn’t work.

The clip renders fine in another project’s timeline, just not in this one for no clear reason.

    Really frustrating and not impressed!

  • The Rolling Shutter Repair seems to have removed the “flicker”, however it has darkened my clip somewhat. It was a woman filmed against a white background. Now the background looks like a dirty white or a grey. I have just tried adjust the levels on the clip, however it did nothing.

The clip uses the Multiply blending mode.

Is there a reason for this darkening? Can it be prevented? Is anyone able to suggest a how I can retain the clips original levels and still use the rolling shutter effect?

    Thanks,
    Martin.

November 19, 2012 at 11:42 pm in reply to: Frame Size Confusion

The stage/canvas in AE is set to 770 x 512 . The left and right side edges of my imported clip overhang the stage/canvas, the top and bottom of the clip are aligned with the top and bottom of the canvas. I would not expect the overhang to be visible once the clip has been rendered/exported.

This has not happened to me in 6 years of using AE.

The exported clip from that project plays in VLC with the overhanging edges, in WMP and in youtbue with these edges which should not be rendering as they are not visible on the stage/canvas.

However AE still states the newly exported clip is 770 x 512 when re-imported to AE, even though it plays differently elsewhere.

I am still unable to solve this problem. Does anyone else have any ideas?

    Thanks.

Whilst hanging on the loaded clip (9 remaining)….sometimes it also likes to try and auto save, which also makes it crash.

Even through the same clips are on the HDD as are on the server, it keeps looking to the server to load clips. Is there a way I can re-direct where it is looking when it’s loading?

April 19, 2012 at 6:13 am in reply to: Ripped VOBs loosing length on timeline

    Hi Jeff,

What do you mean by encrypted? It’s not a bought DVD, the footage was shot on a cam in studio and given to me to edit.

I tried copying the .vobs directly to my editing hard drive, then importing them directly to CS5 to edit, but this is where the clips become way shorter and start glitching when I try playback.

I’m still unsure one what to do.

Other posts suggested using DVD Decrypter to rip the DVDs, which I have done, but the .vobs are playing up in PP. Can anyone recommend a converter that would suitably convert the vobs to an idea format?

Or any other help is grately appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Martin

Well, I just turned off the Magic Bullet effect to see if that would make a difference and it’s exporting, so it obviously has something to do with that.

I’m not sure how I can find out what’s making Magic Bullet prevent it from exporting. Any ideas how I can find out?

That’s what I thought. I knew it wasn’t FCP because I tried other clips, but I was just wondering if anyone knew why that might have happened to the VHS one, how it might get corrupted for example. I’m not used to importing VHS footage into FCP so it is new too me.

I’m hopefully looking to be enlightened on why :)…but obviously with out knowing which USB capture box was used I doubt it will be possible.

Thanks for taking the time to read it, and who knows, someone might know why 🙂

    Many thanks,

February 25, 2009 at 1:30 pm in reply to: Plugin to remove video noise?

    Hi,

I am looking to do the exact same thing on some CCTV footage an found your post when I did a search.

Did you have any luck with any of the plugins/filters? I would love to know how it went and if you have any suggestions.

In my case the footage has some artifacts at 100% size, however I need to scale up certain sections for a court case and I have been trying my best to remove some digital noise that appears every few frames as a honeycomb type pattern, as well a smothing some of the pixelated edges.

I tried the Too Much Too Soon plugins however I also found that I could get it to give me any visable/decent results, but again, that may just be me using it incorrectly.

    Thanks,
    Martin

October 28, 2008 at 5:54 pm in reply to: AECS3 not refreshing video….HELP please!

I only used FCP to capture the footage onto my computer, no editing o keying was done what so ever in FCP. After the footage was on my hard drive everything else has been done in AE.

Sounds like I should’ve brushed up on my 3D before starting it. Oh well, looks like it’s going to b a VERY long few days now that I am back on the G4.
