First, the best workflow would be to simply bring your Motion project with just the text into FCP and put it over your video – no need to export a movie from Motion

Pretty easy to do in Motion. Use a replicator in 3D. Put the logo in a 2D group so it won’t be affected by the camera. Turn on depth of field. You could animate the replicated particles as a group, or I’d tend to animate the camera to get that result – maybe a little bit of both. But perfectly doable in Motion.

You say you are on a Mac yet this was created in After Effects – you know AE runs on a Mac, correct? You didn’t ask to know how to create this effect in Motion, is that what you want to know how to do? It’s certainly possible, but not something that can be explained in a forum post. You’ll need to get familiar with Motion’s particle engine – the preset Emitters are a great place to start.

It doesn’t work that way – Motion dropzones don’t become DVDSP dropzones. Think of your Motion projects as your DVD menu directly – put in the content you want IN MOTION, then import the Motion project itself to DVDSP and apply it as a menu.

Use keyframes instead of the Ramp behavior, and in the Keyframe Editor, use the Animation Menu to set After Last Keyframe to Repeat.

For Motion the graphics card is more important by far than the number of cores. The Radeon 4870 is currently the best card.

You should be rendering out with h.264, not as NTSC – that’s for standard definition and is an interlaced format. Use one of the Share presets or Compressor presets for the web to make it easier.
