I set my sequence settings to ‘maximum bit depth’ and ‘maximum render quality’ and all is well.

So it appears that it just looks ‘soft’ in the timeline. It looks great in the source window, but as soon as it’s edited into the timeline it looks ‘soft’.

That doesn’t seem to work. You would think that there would be some way to do this within Premiere as it’s a pretty basic function.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried the Google route, but I couldn’t quite find what I was looking for. There was an expression on Creative Cow, but I couldn’t get it to work properly.

Thanks for the tips. I ended up just putting a feathered mask around the flare, which made the edges of the solid almost unnoticeable.
