  • Files Exported from AE look ‘soft’…

    Hi There,

I’m having an issue in which all of my exports from After Effects into Premiere look ‘soft’ (very poor resolution). I’ve tried exporting high quality animation quicktime files and .avi. It’s particularly noticeable with text. Is there a way to set the import field order in Premiere? Perhaps that’s my issue…

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

So it appears that it just looks ‘soft’ in the timeline. It looks great in the source window, but as soon as it’s edited into the timeline it looks ‘soft’.

I set my sequence settings to ‘maximum bit depth’ and ‘maximum render quality’ and all is well.

    What are your sequence settings?

After Effect by default will de-interlace, so that may be your issue.

Make sure your the pixel aspect ratios match all along your workflow and make sure it’s interpreted correctly in Premiere.

A soft preview can also be a normal thing if the machine can display full quality. Set playback to highest quality to be sure.
