  • Thank you, I’ll give it a try!

  • Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of. Is there a Mac-based system, used, for under $2000 that can handle the job?

Yep, I checked and rechecked this many times. Always stereo.

I’m capturing as stereo, but the captured file plays only in mono in Quicktime, and appears to be lacking a channel. I can see that the input is being captured as stereo in log and capture on the audio monitor, but for some reason the file is ending up mono.

Not really. The problem I have is that FCP won’t recognize a VHS tape sent through firewire on a miniDV/VHS deck as stereo. It reads it in the meter as stereo, but then saves it to a file as mono. I’ve no idea why, and it’s extremely frustrating. Nobody knows???

Okay, I can see in FCP’s audio preview section of log and capture that the input signal is stereo, it’s only when it gets saved to the disc that the file ends up being only mono. Why would FCP not save a stereo signal as stereo???

“edit the audio track(s) back on”

    How to do this?

    Thanks, that works!

Okay, I’m looking at the nested sequence, and some of the images didn’t come in. Instead there’s a blank, completely green screen. What happened here? I’m working with HD footage.

“Open the nest in the view and apply the filter to the clip in the viewer”
Okay, but where do I then find the filter settings to modify them in relation to the nested sequence?

I select all clips. I convert to a nested sequence.
I click on the nested sequence.
    I apply the filter.
I don’t see the filter settings pop up anyplace, so I don’t know where I can change them.
When I double-click on the sequence as I would on a clip to see the filter settings, it reverts back to the original clips, not what I want.
