No Steve, it didn’t.I’ve done hundreds of games using DV with no issues at all. I just started filming in HDV and have had issues. I film in 1440×1080 29.97 fps. I used the HDV 1080-60i (1440×1080 29.97fps) template. My camera-Sony HDR FX-7 claims it’s 1080i. I’ve tried the 720p template also.Same thing. It plays flawlessly through the viewfinder. It’s got to be something with my project settings.

Thanks John. One more question. I often film in HD-and burn a DVD from it.I have been capturing to Vegas 12 in HD-and when I render in Mpeg-2 format-I get some blurry issues. Is there another rendering setting I should be using? I tried a bunch, and made a m2t file. Seemed better. Any idea’s? Thanks, Mark

Jeff, I ended up having to use a DL DVD. Does that change anything for calculating the bitrate since the disc holds more?
    Thank you,
    Mark

It was about an hour long. The render as screen in 11 has changed a lot. I used one with a yellow favorite star next to it..DVD Architect NTSC widescreen video stream.
It was shaky on computer, as well as finished DVD on TV.
FYI, went into Vegas 10, and did same project flawlessly.

June 15, 2012 at 8:36 pm in reply to: Capture Problem Sony Vegas with HDR FX7

I’ve written before with no luck as of yet. I have a Sony HDR FX-7 camcorder. I can capture in standard DV no problem-with Sony Vegas Pro 9, 10, and 11. It recognizes the camera in HD. When I capture in HD, the computer turns the camera on, yet I never get any footage. I’ve been on the phone with Sony for hours. I’ve changed firewire cables, added another PCI board, yet nothing. I have Windows 7 64 with a Dell I7 computer. I’m disguisted that I simply cannot capture HD. All my setting on the camera are correct. Any help, once again, would be appreciated.

Thanks Mike. One more question. I had always thought that the bitrate should be between 6.5-8.5. This puts mine at around 9.3. I am going from DV camcorder to DVD-sports video’s that usually last an hour. Does this seem like the correct setting to you?

I have windows 7 64bit. I have no issues with dv footage. I got so frustrated trying to load and burn hd to blueray. Finally I just gave up. Not sure if it’s the camera , the computer, Or what. I have all brand new equipment also.
