Let me first ask… Did you clone your drive to a firewire drive, THEN removed FCS2? After this, did you repair your permissions, do a CLEAN install of FCS3, repair your permissions AGAIN, then tried your capture?
This is the ONLY way doing a major upgrade is going to work.

[Ben Pirouet] “i also couldn’t find a way of getting a 5.1 track out of it either.”
Have you setup your sequence to output 5.1 surround? You can do this thru the sequence settings.

Good deal!
You have a backup!
You get a cookie!
Its amazing how many out here don’t backup before doing ANY update. Glad to hear that you are not in that boat.
To everyone else out there who doesn’t know this… ALWAYS backup before ANY update.

Turn on iLink to either DV or DVCAM. With this setting off, your machine thinks you are playing HDV.

Here’s another thing…
Use your scope inside of FCP. They are close enough for ANY work.

Did you get it through Software Update?
Sorry, there are no uninstalls when it comes to Apple’s Update. This is why you should always copy (clone) your system drive before ANY updates.

Really… That’s a strange sizing method. I was not aware of this on the new Macs.
So would that mean you use sizes of 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 gig?
You learn something new everyday. Good Deal!

Thanks for responding, Jason.
Can’t I do this with the current version of CaptionMaker software? It claims it does HD. Am I missing something?
