Thank you, David. I am aware of this and this is exactly what I am doing.
The issues come from the other video tracks. I have a program that uses interviews within and in the interviews we have about three layers of video. If I copy these from an older timeline and paste this into the new timeline, only the first video track is translated properly, after that I have to adjust manually from video track.

Yes, very happy that CS3 works. It’s just that Adobe took this rather arrogant attitude toward the upgrades.

Ok… I have to jump in here.
All of the points are valid, but if this were so bad as described then millions of people would be either fined or imprisoned for this crime. Wouldn’t they?
Here’s the other question to ask. Why is it allowed that I can copy a CD into my iTunes then place onto my iPod. Isn’t this the same practice as copying TV shows to DVD for personal use.

Don’t take wrong but that’s a pretty crappy way to handle business. It seems that Adobe is so greedy that feel they can alienate a customer base to make a profit.
Now, I can understand this stance with regards to CS2 maybe but CS3… This is very very disheartening to myself and others at our facility.

I’m still a little confused on how this is going to work out… It boots to a 32bit kernel but can run some 64bit apps.

I’m not sure if you know this but the kernel is the basis of all programs. Its the foundation that everything is based on. If the kernel isn’t 64bit, then nothing is running at 64bit.

This only true if you tell it to boot to 64bit. From the article I read at CNET.com, you have to press and hold the 6 and the 4 keys at the same time on boot for your Mac to boot to the 64bit version of the system kernel.

My feelings on upgrading to a new OS is to wait until the first round of updates. This is because most all computer companies put product out way before its really ready. Apple isn’t so bad at this but it seems to happen a lot still.
GIve it a month or two… Give it time to shake out the bugs before updating. Think of it this way. You just upgraded to FCS3 and now you want to upgrade to Snow Leopard. Not a smart move in my book.

As an aside to this…
Everyone who is upgrading to FCS3 that has plugins that used activations should do the same thing. Plugins such as Tiffen Dfx Filters require you to deactivate to reinstall.
Keep this in mind!
