I upgraded to 11 from 10, but I am back using 10 because of the GPU acceleration problems (which is the main reason I upgraded). I have the issue sent to Sony Creative Software support, but from their responses it seems that they don’t have a solution yet. I up graded from 9 to 10 with no problems ( I did wait to upgrade until the bugs were worked out of 10) I hope they get 11 working, especially the GPU acceleration because I bought a new video card just for that purpose!

In reading this thread, I have a question or two….

I have included some SD 4:3 footage in a HD project of 16:9. I simply used the pan crop tool to match the output aspect and the footage looked good and not distorted. So is that all I need to do to do this properly?

  • Thanks Matt, That worked great!

I finally got the issue resolved. Thanks for all your input. The fact of the matter was that the drive was going bad. I had the drive replaced and all is well! Thanks again.

No, not that I know of!

    Here is an update:

Last night I rendered the project using Sony AVC, but I changed the template to Blu-ray 1920×1080-60i 10mps stream. The change I made was changing from 16mps stream to 10 mps stream. I also changed the drive it saved to. I saved to the main C drive, not to an internal drive in the computer. I had success with this. It rendered overnight about 8 hours (77 min. video). Can anyone explain this? Does that reduce the quality?

But here is my NEW problem!!

When trying to burn to a disc using Architect Pro 5.2 I kept getting an error message 0x80131604. This happened very quickly into the rendereing. I tried several times all the same results.

I then tried to burn the same project with Architect Pro 5.0. ( I still had that on my computer from Vegas 9). It all worked fine.
So my question is does anybody know what I need to do with 5.2 to get it to work?

    Mark

The video is a MXF file. It was taken from a Panasonic P2 camera. It is 1080i AVC 50.

Great… Thank you. I just let it sit there and it eventually loaded. FYI once it loaded once, the file was able to reload in another DAR file very quickly… so I good, but I don’t know why.
