  • Rendering problem…. stops at about 50%

Posted by Mark Krueger on September 20, 2011 at 12:27 am

Ok I have spent two days now trying to figure out what is going on with my rendering issues.

I have been attempting to render a one hour and 17 minute video using Sony AVC. The rendering process stops somewhere about 50% of the render. When I go to look at my computer to see how it is doing, I see that the Drive that I am rendering to has been opened on the desktop and the rendering has stopped. Seems very weird to me.

I tried rendering just a small portion of the video by using the settings “render loop only”. This was a 12 min. segment. I ended up with the same results… about 50% complete and then we just die!

I upgraded to 10 from 9 thinking that may have been the problem, but no same results.
so any help would be appreciated!

The video is a MXF file. It was taken from a Panasonic P2 camera. It is 1080i AVC 50.

are you trying to do 2 things at once….. like change the size of the video and the frame rate at the same time?

No, not that I know of!

    Here is an update:

Last night I rendered the project using Sony AVC, but I changed the template to Blu-ray 1920×1080-60i 10mps stream. The change I made was changing from 16mps stream to 10 mps stream. I also changed the drive it saved to. I saved to the main C drive, not to an internal drive in the computer. I had success with this. It rendered overnight about 8 hours (77 min. video). Can anyone explain this? Does that reduce the quality?

But here is my NEW problem!!

When trying to burn to a disc using Architect Pro 5.2 I kept getting an error message 0x80131604. This happened very quickly into the rendereing. I tried several times all the same results.

I then tried to burn the same project with Architect Pro 5.0. ( I still had that on my computer from Vegas 9). It all worked fine.
So my question is does anybody know what I need to do with 5.2 to get it to work?

I would tell you to individually down-convert those files
to a more standardized format, then replace accordingly
    in your project..(lol)
But i can just imagine you wide eyed now saying WHAT!
