4:3 to 2.35:1
Posted by Justin L. on November 16, 2011 at 1:54 amHey guys!
How can I make my 4:3 standard footage to 2.35:1 ratio? Like, what numbers should I put in my Pan/Crop Window?
Thanks!

The answer hasn’t changed from the last time you asked: 😉
It’s still simple math. The width for SD 4:3 is 640 and 640 / 2.35 = 272 so the height for a ratio of 2.35:1 is 272 with a Pixel Aspect Ratio of 1.0. Change your project properties to 640 x 272 PAR 1.0 then go into Pan Crop, right-click the frame and select Match Output Aspect.

November 17, 2011 at 1:44 amIn reading this thread, I have a question or two….
I have included some SD 4:3 footage in a HD project of 16:9. I simply used the pan crop tool to match the output aspect and the footage looked good and not distorted. So is that all I need to do to do this properly?
