Hi Vlad,
A couple of us over on the Apple FCP forums had the same issue and a solution was found. Have a read of this thread:
Software Update will not update to FCP 5.0.2

Unfortunately not. I mentioned this to AJA the other week. Hopefully this is something they can add in the future! It would be very cool if the tool could read the SMPTE timecode and SMPTE user bits data from the PX header and translate this into a Quicktime Timecode Track on creation.
As far as we’ve been able to tell, this feature is not currently offered by any other software which is able to translate DPX to QT, so it would be somewhat of a first for AJA.

I’ve just read somewhere else that I do need a Decklink installed to use FrameLink, so apologies for the wild goose chase!
Thanks,

Thanks Kristian,
You drag and drop a Quicktime movie file onto the Framelink application and out pops a disk image containing individual frames of the movie as DPX files. This disk image is also accessible over the network as a disk volume.
This is sort of what I expected, but when I drop a QT file onto the application nothing happens (have tried DV, 10bit, BMD 10bit RGB). Should the disk image be in the same place as the QT file or on the desktop? Its not in either or anywhere else that I can see.
To go from DPX to movie, double click the Framelink application and it will ask you for the type of movie you want to make. Fill up the details and you’ll find an empty disk volume as well as a corresponding Quicktime movie. Simply copy your DPX files into that disk image and you’re done. The corresponding Quicktime file will be updated.
Again I get no disk image. I can fill out the details and the empty QT file is created on the desktop, but there is no disk image.
I am testing this on a Powerbook, so there is no Decklink card (although I doubt that makes a difference). OS 10.4.1, QT 7.0.1. I must be missing something, but like you say its pretty simple, so I am leaning more towards it not being me 🙂
Thanks for the help,

Apparently the two codecs in question are not yet enabled in the Windows codec package. Will hopefully know more next week.

Thanks for confirming its not just me Ivan! I have sent AJA support an email, I’ll post back here when I get a reply.

No delay with Mojo, this is one of its biggest selling points! Although it uses a FW cable, the process by which it communicates is quite different to the IO, hence perfect sync between external monitor and canvas.

Thanks Michael.

Thats what I need to find out from you rajiv. If it does say 24 then in their current state you will not get an usable 25fps EDL from a 24@25 sequence.
However all is not lost, if you select ALL your media files and Control>Click on the TC Rate value for one of the clips, then choose 24@25 in the pop up, all your clips should now have the original 25fps TC back. I know it sounds odd, but it does work.
Give it a try and then see if you can make another EDL.
