I was looking for an answer to this recently as I hatted the way I had to remove all the .sync01 extensions added after using Autosync. The answer came from developer Bouke who had made a small macro utility for PC called ButtonMacro:
https://www.editb.nl/multimedia/public/ButtonMacro.zipJust set up the key commands you want and make sure the first clip name is selected. If you are on a Mac then the same can achieved this Applescript.

February 7, 2006 at 12:54 pm in reply to: Importing OMF2.0 from Final Cut Pro to Avid Media ComposerShort answer is no. FCP OMF is not Avid compatible. Automatic Duck does the correct formating for the Avid OMF import.
If you need to be taking info across to Avid using OMF, then Automatic Duck is the best choice.

January 16, 2006 at 1:39 pm in reply to: Can we run windows XP on the new Intelbased MacBook and iMacAccording to a number of sources the new Intel Macs are using Intel EFI firmware instead of BIOS, which means you won’t be able to run Win XP on them as its current 32bit version does not support EFI booting.
EFI is a new firmware which Windows Vista will apparently support when its out. Some Linux builds have some level of support for it too.

I was in a similar situation, but like you after reading lots of comments and a few reviews, it seems Apple have completely messed this v1 release up.

I thought I had a decent temp solution to this short coming when I found:
https://www.artissoftware.com/screentools/loupe.htmlIt allows you to lock to a zoomed area of the screen and display it on a floating window. Unfortunately due to the amount you need to zoom in the resulting display is just too pixelated to read clearly.
I think even if it had some clever anti-aliasing it would still be too blurry. Shame.

Check out XML2Text from Andreas Kiel. It may well be able to do what you want as it has many ways to handle markers and clip info outside of FCP using XML to transfer the data:
There is a free 30 day demo available of XML2text, so just give it a go.

Also check out Andrea’s Kiel’s Playlist2FCP tool:
https://www.spherico.com/filmtools/Playlist2FCP/index.html
Its a very easy to use and useful tool for taking all iTunes song info and the music files to FCP via XML.

August 9, 2005 at 1:27 pm in reply to: Apple “Mighty Mouse” scroll ball for scrolling horizontally in FCP timeline. This works as standard. I plugged in the mighty mouse and did not install the mouse software, but in FCP you can scroll through the timeline using the horizontal scroll of the ball!
