I have a bin with A LOT of markers. I’d like to bring this info into a spreadsheet for keeping track of material used. I thought XML was supposed to be the answer, but apparently it doesn’t work (or doesn’t for me, anyway). I can open the XML file in a variety of programs, and see that my info has been saved, but it’s always unformatted. I tried, Excel, Access, Explorer, Safari, Word, Textedit.

    Suggestions?

Check out XML2Text from Andreas Kiel. It may well be able to do what you want as it has many ways to handle markers and clip info outside of FCP using XML to transfer the data:

There is a free 30 day demo available of XML2text, so just give it a go.
