Does AJA DPX-to-QT utility read DPX timecode?
Posted by Jason J rodriguez on July 6, 2005 at 8:34 pmHello,
Just curious, can the AJA DPX-to-QT utility read embedded timecode in the DPX header?
Thanks,
Jason

July 6, 2005 at 10:54 pmUnfortunately not. I mentioned this to AJA the other week. Hopefully this is something they can add in the future! It would be very cool if the tool could read the SMPTE timecode and SMPTE user bits data from the PX header and translate this into a Quicktime Timecode Track on creation.
As far as we’ve been able to tell, this feature is not currently offered by any other software which is able to translate DPX to QT, so it would be somewhat of a first for AJA.

you can workaround with https://www.dharmafilm.com/sebskytools/ that is a software that can add a timecode and tape id to a quicktime movie
