Activity Forums AJA Video Systems Does AJA DPX-to-QT utility read DPX timecode?

Unfortunately not. I mentioned this to AJA the other week. Hopefully this is something they can add in the future! It would be very cool if the tool could read the SMPTE timecode and SMPTE user bits data from the PX header and translate this into a Quicktime Timecode Track on creation.

As far as we’ve been able to tell, this feature is not currently offered by any other software which is able to translate DPX to QT, so it would be somewhat of a first for AJA.

I thought the Black-magic frame-link utility did read the DPX header timecode information.

    Thanks,
