You could probably manage an effect similar to that with a clever use of fractal noise, the glass distortion, an overlaid black and white gradient, and an adjustment layer using Colorama with a custom gradient.

Maybe a little displacement mapping for good measure. That’s just at first glance, though.

Yeah, you’d probably want to use our 3D Assistants for that effect, specifically Cylinder Creator in order to create a video wall with that many layers.

Unless you want to position them all by hand, which I highly do Not recommend. 🙂

July 18, 2007 at 7:24 pm in reply to: script to repair lit pixels

Rather than a script, you might try duplicating your footage with the lit pixel, then create a 1px by 1px mask around the pixel directly next to the lit one on the top layer of your footage.

Nudge this masked top layer over until it covers the burned pixel, and you should be good to go.

They probably used a motion control camera and composited several takes together with the different characters/background extras.

Make sure that you don’t have a frame of black between each of your cuts…zoom in on the cuts and make sure that the clips are properly merged together at the seams.

I’m using a program called Billable for my freelancing…stores client information, creates quick invoices, has a built-in stopwatch/rate calculator for your by-the-hour projects, and it’s pretty cheap.

That looks like Philipp Spoeth’s Sinedots II plug-in was screened/added on top of a blue background and rotated from within the plugin parameters.

It’s a free effect. Check it out here:
