Why can’t I copy and paste into AE7 from the Character Map on Windows XP? Is there another way to create a copyright symbol? Unicode Alt+0169 doesn’t work either.

Just create one in Photoshop or other app. Place it in the comp on its own layer.

This doesn’t work in any font and I know my font has a copyright symbol in it as I can see it in Windows Character Map. Guess I will have to create one…. bummer.

    thanks for all your help.

    Try this:
    – leave NumLock on
    – hold down alt when typing *all* the 0169 keys, using the *numeric* keypad.
    – the symbol should appear when you release the alt key.

I just did it on a laptop, adding the Fn key to the mix. 😀

    type the symbol in Illustrator
    convert to outlines
cut and paste it as vector art
