The Question was from 2013. Right now ist almost 2018 and in my opinion there was still no satisfying answer.
But since this post came out on top of a google search here’s a still not perfect but good solution that I found hidden in a quite long youtube video about the topic.1. Prepare your ramp as usual and speed it up to 1000%.
2. switch to the razor tool and cut out the part where your footage is at 1000%
3. now rightclick this part > klick speed/duration > set the percentage to whatever you want.
4. move the part at the right (where you slow down again) to fill the gap. This is still not a perfect solution, since there is a “speed jump” at the point where your cut is…. but it is barely noticable.

July 24, 2017 at 12:29 pm in reply to: Why is there so much difference in video colors and quality when playing the same video on VLC media player and playing it on YouTubeIt’s your Nvidia Drivers settings and it’s a known issue.
You can fix that Problem by opening “NVIDIA Control Panel”
then go to > Video > Adjust video color settings
on the right side under “How do you make color adjustments? make sure “With the NVIDIA settings” is active
go to the advanced tab and choose Full (0-255) That’s it. -
Thank you Walter, this is exactly the solution I was hoping for. The Script seems to be worth every cent.
May I mention once again how thankful I am for your continuous help.
Your always great advice has been invaluable for me over the years and saves me time almost on a daily basis!
It’s one thing to answer a question…. but you always try to go even one step further by solving the whole problem even before the next question has been asked.
One time you even wrote a small script for me as part of a solution and I didn’t even have to ask for it. This Script is STILL in constant use btw.I wish for you that your constant effort, expertise and gratefulness is noticed at the right places!

Thanks Michael – thank you for your answer.
I think the AE pointtracker and even Mocha will not work – because of the nature of the footage. (i’ve done a fair amount of tracking in the past) The good thing is that I do not need the rotation – only the position. Anyhow… I’ll give it a try now…. but my hopes aren’t up ; )

Hi Rory,
haven’t read the whole post. But here’s a quick piece of advice from own experience.
Make sure to get a GPU with as much RAM as possible cause this is one of the mayor bottlenecks that will slow you down or even cause errors and crashes without ever telling you the reason. if you go 4K You shouldn’t even start with anything less than 2gig of videoram on your card. That is the absolute minimum specs. Try to go with 4gig. Don’t be greedy… you’ll thank me later! ; ) -

July 4, 2016 at 7:15 pm in reply to: Will horrible dissolves ever be fixed in Premiere Pro CC?Dan, I’m 100% with you. Dissolves are HORRIBLE indeed. I always thought I was alone with this opinion ; )
But I don’t have much hope it will be fixed soon since Adobe seems to go back instead for forward with their latest release.
Best proof is the dropping of Dynamic Link to Speedgrade in the latest release.
Dynamic Link between Adobe Applications was in my opinion one of the best features
and a tremendous time and hassle saver.
But well… it’s been dropped now and that pretty much sealed the faith of Speedgrade. -

June 19, 2016 at 9:02 am in reply to: playback speed – keyboard shortcut for predefined speed instead stepping up?Thank you. You mean I should do that macro with an external application?
If it’s possible in any way I’d prefer a native solution inside of Premiere – but I guess if nothing else comes up it might be the only solution.
