Thank you Tomas for taking the time to reply.

I actually use incremental save most of the time…. but sometimes I additionaly add something descriptive in the name of a version. This is when the described problem occurs.

I also use Auto save…. but keeping all the files at a central location is something new that I haven’t done. It’s a great Idea! Thank you!

  • I found this post while having the same problem.

    Here’s a solution that worked:
The objects needs to be EDITABLE (If you use a parametric object, convert it to a polygonal object) .
The external compostiting tag did not work for me as long as the object I applied it to was still parametric.

    I found the solution.
It was done with the Re:vison >Re:fill Plugin.

If anyone knows about a native solution, please let us know. Thanks

  • AWESOME !!!

    Thank you Robert

  • Todd, my personal experience is that it very much depends on the specs of your project.
for example what kind of effects you use vs. what source material you use.
So it might be different from project to project.

There are of course certain bottlenecks which WILL slow you down. I recently used a card with very low on board videomemory. It caused all kinds of problems without ever showing up a specific error message.
Swapping the card with another one that had more memory immediately solved all these problems.

The next mayor bottleneck is HD performance.

I’d suggest you do some testing and try to find out when specifically your projects start to perform slower. Then you will know if you can benefit from a better card or if the problem is somewhere else.

    good luck!

  • Thank you Todd

I didn’t know that this “simple text” even exists. I just tried it… and I’ll probably end up using either this or a standart text layer.

Not exactly what I was hoping for though, but it will do the job.

I also do 3D and in Cinema4D there is this excellent feature where the user can toggle all kinds of Projectstats to render in the final output just like a small watermark for later review. I thought that something similar might be hidden in PP ; )

  • I don’t know a “proper” way either and if there is one I’d like to know it too.
Until someone posts a description of the correct way I can at least tell you from personal experience that Premiere will only notify you that the proxies are missing. But that’s it.
When you load the project you will just see a list of the missing proxies. > Just click “offline” and the project loads as usual… just without the proxies.

    Thank you Ann,

I did not use the legacy titler.
The titles were made with the new Tools in PP

In the past I used a AE File with Dynamic Link in order to have complete freedom and to be able to make instant global changes.
In this Project I tried the new PP titles for the first time on a larger scale. Not a good idea ; )

Boris Sapphire has that kind of transition.
    It is called “S_WipeClock”

Hi, a quick thing you should try to make sure the proxies are properly connected is. >
rightclick on a clip in your timeline and click > reveal in explorer (since you are on a mac it’s probably something like “reveal in finder”.
If the proxy file is correctly linked it will reveal the proxy (as long as proxies are active in “toggle proxies” )
Once you switch back to non proxies it will bring you to your source file when you rightclick > reveal….. This way you can be sure your proxies are properly attached.

Another Idea. In my experience the re-attaching is in certain cases not 100% reliable.
To make sure everything is ok try making a completely new project, with just 2 or 3 clips and do ALL the proxy encoding from within premiere via media encoder. Try to NOT use mp4 and try different storage targets > next to originals might be a good way to rule out hd performance issues.
