I was wondering…. how did you come up with this info? I was googling this question before I posted and found nothing. (didn’t dig very deep though)
anyhow… I never would have guessed that it works that way… so I just did a quick test with “color matte” and it did not work the same way. -
PERFECT !
Thanks a lot -

Personally I can’t answer the question yet…
But to shorten the wait until more answers come in, you can do a search for “resolve premiere roundtrip” – you will find lots of valuable info on the topic. The ideal solution for the future in my opinion would be something that’s comparable to the “dynamic link” connection between PR and AE but I don’t know if this is even possible.
I will follow this thread with great interest.

Like I expected the solution is absolutely obvious. If I would have turned my brain on it might have occurred to me that the “problem” I described is expected behavior ; )I haven’t had the chance to try it yet. But I’m sure it works since your description makes perfect sense! : )

Maybe THIS > https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo can be of some help along the way to check your footage.
Very helpful! Using it every day.

Thank you Cassius,
the answer to all your questions is yes. exept – importing while keeping layer dimensions…. I don’t see this option. I know it from importing PSD files but it didn’t come up while importing the AI.The attempt to import directly from Illustrator sounds good. I tried it several times just now. But when I paste the path in AE it places is not at it’s original position. Instead it places it around the center of the canvas.
In case I can’t find a way to fix this I will go the hard way and start doing it by hand ; )
Thanks you so much for your help!

Thank you for the reply Cassius.
The suggested solutions does not fix the problem thought.
I can right now already select all keyframes in the Brush Position parameter of the Write ON effect and move them with value slider.
So there is no need to create a null and do the workaround. The problem is that I have about 60 of those shapes and I was hoping I could find away around fixing it all by hand ; )
I think the problem might have something to do with the origin coordinates inside of the AI file.

Walter, this works perfect! It’s exactly what I was hoping for and it’s a huge timesaver.
Thank you so much for writing this!
