  • time remap beyond 1000%?

Posted by Kent Beeson on September 8, 2013 at 3:20 am

Using PP CS6, how can I time remap up to past 1000% faster? When I drag the bar between the two time key frames, it only allows me to go to 1000% but I might need it to go to 8 or 9000%

    thanks

The following functions can be used to change speed: Interpret Footage (works on an entire file), Speed/Duration (works on a clip), and Time Remapping (works on a portion of a clip). If one function does not meet your needs, two or more can be applied simultaneously to get a multiplier effect.

Alternatively, you could apply Speed/Duration and/or Time Remapping to a nested sequence that contained a clip with its speed already increased.

The Question was from 2013. Right now ist almost 2018 and in my opinion there was still no satisfying answer.
But since this post came out on top of a google search here’s a still not perfect but good solution that I found hidden in a quite long youtube video about the topic.

    1. Prepare your ramp as usual and speed it up to 1000%.
    2. switch to the razor tool and cut out the part where your footage is at 1000%
    3. now rightclick this part > klick speed/duration > set the percentage to whatever you want.
    4. move the part at the right (where you slow down again) to fill the gap.

This is still not a perfect solution, since there is a “speed jump” at the point where your cut is…. but it is barely noticable.
