After purchasing VP11 to upgrade from VP9e, I have had nothing but trouble. After my current project is completed I will be reverting back to VP9 as I find 11 a complete disaster, for me.
I need, depend upon, a stable, professional program to get my work done, VP11 is not it, it is a very unstable release and should never have been put into the market as a “solution” but only as a “beta” for people to play with in their free time.
I am very disappointed with Vp11 and have filed 50~75 crash reports for the 8 minute project I have been working on, I am at my wits end and if it were possible to open the project in VP9 I would have reverted weeks ago. VP11 is not ready for prime time by any measure. An to think I upgrade so that I could take advantage of the “stabilizer” plug in, which I found out is worse than the one in VP10! and now there is no network rendering in VP10 or 11. Is Sony doing an Apple? releasing new software to a professional market but giving them a consumer product that just is not capable of doing professional work?
My $0.02, the value of VP11 to me.
I’ll be waiting for VP11.1.0, if it’s a STABLE release!

What is Sony doing?
They crippled stabilizer in VP11.
VP11 is a defective release, I’m having huge problems with it and will be reverting back to VP9.
Is it time to look for another NLE as FCP editors are doing?
How can Sony release software that is not working? I am not a hobbyist and have to have tools that actually work, all day, every day. I will have to find something else if this is not resolved soon. VP11 has been a huge disaster for me, release 11 & 11.0.511 is really a disaster. Reverted to 11.0.425 to finish a job and will then go back to 9e to work with a stable platform. Till 11.1+ is released I will only consider VP to be an “experimental” release and not a professional tool, too unpredictable.

The control key works, or you can adjust your mouse/trackball sensitivity to low when working with the color wheels, I find this gives me more control.

Thank you for the link!!!!
Installed the build 425 and was able to render, but not the version for vimeo! Very strange, at least I was able to get something working. VP 11 has been a huge pain to deal with, I am sorry I upgraded from 9, at least it was stable. I cannot imagine how many hours I have wasted dealing with VP11’s issues, Sony is going to loose customers on this program if they continue to release “buggy” version that DO NOT WORK. I use this professionally and this has been a disaster for me, going back to VP9e as soon as this project is completed. VP11 is an “experimental” release only, it was a huge mistake to do a job with it.

I deleted build 425~!!!arrggghhh!!!!
No longer available on the sony website. Now I know never to update the damn program without keeping the old version ready to reinstall when the new version is worse!

I may have spoken too soon! with the “update” 511, I am now back to constant crashing during rendering, though VP11 is more stable during editing. This is a very annoying situation that Sony has caused by releasing “buggy” software. I thought with all the criticism with VP10 they would have learned NOT to release buggy version of VP!!!

I went into my windows 7 menu, control panel, “uninstall a program” and deleted anything that looked like a “codec” that I could find. That’s a bout it.

Recently purchased the ASUS PA 238; an 8 bit panel which works with my 8 bit graphics card. Updated my Spyer3 pro to Elite to get a better feature set and Rec 709, etc color space profile ability. Seems to be working well, still playing around with the settings to see the difference between the ASUS and my old Viewsonic, they are close but the ASUS has more controls and inputs.
Next upgrade? 10 bit panel and a new card later this year.
Thanks’ for the information.
