  • An alternative to Network Rendering?

My department’s workflow absolutely requires the Network Rendering feature, so we are stuck on Vegas 9 since it has been removed from future versions. Are there any plugin alternatives to Network Rendering that would work with Vegas 10/11. We need the following abilities-
    -build a render queue
-render multiple clips simultaneously (at least 2 at a time)
-have the ability to continue editing while rendering.

Will anything in the Vasst/Veggie/Production Assistant universe supply the ability to do this? It doesn’t even have to be ‘network’ rendering in that I could survive with doing everything I listed on a singular machine.

Take a look at Transcoder from Vegasaur: render queue + background rendering.
You can freely use it within 30 days…

Thank you. That was a good lead and worth looking into. However, it still lacks the usability we need. For example, you can’t add to queue while there are clips rendering and they only render one at a time.

I am very disappointed that Sony discontinued the Network Rendering.

Network Rendering should not have been discontinued,
but should have been improved upon.

    What is Sony doing?

    They crippled stabilizer in VP11.

VP11 is a defective release, I’m having huge problems with it and will be reverting back to VP9.

Is it time to look for another NLE as FCP editors are doing?

How can Sony release software that is not working? I am not a hobbyist and have to have tools that actually work, all day, every day. I will have to find something else if this is not resolved soon. VP11 has been a huge disaster for me, release 11 & 11.0.511 is really a disaster. Reverted to 11.0.425 to finish a job and will then go back to 9e to work with a stable platform. Till 11.1+ is released I will only consider VP to be an “experimental” release and not a professional tool, too unpredictable.
