  • Paul,

    I feel your pain.

Suspect that Adobe Bridge is not keeping up with assets – who uses that thing anyway, except when rogue elements invade your timeline?

  • Hey Robbie,

    You make some good points.

But your company is also promoting this:
    “Trained On Your Edits

You allow Storylines AI to learn your style of videos, tone, & voice, the foundation to build a bespoke video editing AI, just for you.”

Not neccesearily directed at your firm, but at what point will an untrained editor be able to use my unique style of editing, without me getting a cut, or even knowing that an A.I. has analysed how I edit, and sell that as their own?

The same for Motion Graphics, After Effects, and animation.

Adobe just recently tried to force through T&Cs allowing them to do just that, take ownership of my creative work.

Personally I am not afraid of this, but I am also determined to hold A.I. companies accountable to track when they use my work, and to pay me for it.

Yes, in my juristiction you can not copyright creativity, but you can ask for a credit (and money) where you work or work practices has been used. As the A.I. collects all the data, it also would be able to create a “list of contributors”, right?

Just encouraging discussion, before the politicians decides to legislate.

  • Hey Bathinda,

You are doing fine, don’t worry.

There will be times where you can help others, which is why we are here.
    To learn, and help.

  • My thoughts about file-size are that, if you like me, use an old project (“Save as”) with all elements in, to create a new project with. There may be a sizeable amount of data involved, such as Adobe transcriptions and other elements. My projects are basically short-form or just interviews, so not a lot of extra data involved. But have in the past worked on projects where the project itself was 60+ MB.

    Just thinking out loud.

  • Hey Ian,

Just a thought, how big is your PPro project file?

  • Hey Ian,

    Don’t blame, neither do I.
But I do wonder if Teams is built for sharing media, whether there is something Adobe knows that the rest of us have not been told about?

    More info on Teams here:

  • Hey Bathinda,

    I did answer you:

But without knowing more about your setup, “Fit” for sizing is your best option to get a true picture.
The pixels itself will be detirmined on the setting for your sequence, right?

The pixel ratio is based on the output render of your master.
As in if your sequence settings are 10 x 10, then that is what you get.
Same with 1080 x 1080, or any other size.
You can scale the viewer as much as you like in PPro, but rather than focus on that. Instead spend your energy on whether your out-put is working on your desired media for distribution.

But if it means a lot to you, then you need to mark up the 1080×1080 on your screen, and size your programme monitor to that.
Still, I recommend you use “fit”.

In terms of transparency, that works in miracolous ways, as if you’ve got nothing, it shows you nothing around it – Question on that is: What is it that you want to achive?

  • Hey Ian,

“Sharing Footage” could be a problem, but shouldn’t if it is “only” HD, and the NAS is fast enough.

    I would start by investigating:

    1) Are you working in Adobe “Teams” or “Productions” when sharing media?

    2) Where is your Adobe PPro Project data stored, on local drive, or on the NAS?

    3) Same as 2, just for cache and preview folders?

Also, on NAS questions, there are some really clever people hanging around on the COW storage forum:

    https://creativecow.net/forums/forum/storage/

Keep in mind that if you are an “freelance” or SME, that Adobe has killed the Cloud in Creative Cloud. So if any of your machines are still wanting to “hook up” with the Adobe Cloud, that might create a bottleneck too.

  • Hey Bathinda,

I had already started a reply (just below) to your first post from this morning (UK time).

Rather than “25%” size, please just switch it to “Fit”.

My reply to your previous post this morning:

We are all here on the COW to help and learn from one another – notwithstanding that, we have to put family and work first.

The questions you ask are relevant.

But as we don’t know your hardware and software setup, it is near impossible to give a detailed technical explanation.

And, there is also the option that you might have a break-out monitor, or a broadcast monitor for confidence?

The “fit” option is just that: It fits your master video (sequence) within the size of the box.

Another option that I often use, is click the panel you want to use:

To Maximize or Restore Active Frame: hit [SHIFT] + ` (Top left corner normally, just below the Esc button).

Just to check if you are having the same problem there?

But without knowing more about your setup, “Fit” for sizing is your best option to get a true picture.
The pixels itself will be detirmined on the setting for your sequence, right?

  • Hey Bathinda,

Not quite sure from your description what is that you want to achieve with this process?

However, if I understand it correctly, you are placing a 1080×1080 “image” on to 1360×768 size sequence.
Those two will never match, as you point out.

Instead of having you Program Monitor set to “25%”, try and see what happens if you set it to “Fit”?

Please let us know if this resolved your problem?
