Thanks Adam. Yes that would be very easy. I’ll upload version 78 later tonight, or possible tomorow (Current is 77). SteadyCAM78 have a -very- good option to use only parts of splines as Tracks. Makes animation/trimming even faster.

  • Sorry for a late reply, I sent a message from another computer and it seems it didn’t turn up…
The ConnectObject works fine keeping materials at the right selection -most- of the time.
Trying it on Meg it works but some extra selections are made, most likely because of the MirrorObject.
Using it on one of the Zygote caracters, it is all messed up… So generaly it works fine for me even if Children are
LoftNurbs, Sweeps and all sort of hierachy.

In the Goodies CD there is a Plugin called “Connect Object”. It connects all meshes to a single mesh creating correct selectiontags as well.
So it is only a one-click thing!

    Please have a look a Item026 at.
    https://homepage.mac.com/tcastudios/TCA%20CINEMA.html
    It is a zipped Cinemascene.
Keep any deformers above Pathfinder to prevent strange distortions.

Paint a Vertexmap and use it as restriction for a FlagDeformer.
Just tried and it works and looks good.

  • Or select the materials to be swapped in the MaterialManager. Then in MM go Function > SelectTextureTags/Objects.
In AM drag in the new material to be used.

May 10, 2005 at 5:36 pm in reply to: Importing camera data to C4d

I was checking this out a about a year ago, and correct me if I’m wrong but the animation of the Camera in AE changed from 5.5 to 6.
Earlier it was animated using “regular” rotation parameters but then changed to “point of interest” animation. That basicaly makes it pretty akward to translate it to Cinema. I’d also be happy if anyone have a neat solution.

  • There is no native function for that, but head over to:
    https://www.c4dplugs.com
and get “DropIt” and “DropTo Floor”. Works great and both are free.

Take a look at the other stuff as well, this is the place where most avaible plugins and stuff for Cinama are gathered.

The settings thing for the Clients is a bug that turnes up for some of us OSX users. Instead open the Server and Client.init files in the Maxon folder with a regular texteditor and type in the values there. Re-save the document and start/ re-start the Sever and Clients.
