    Oh.
Also use none compressed picture series. Like tif, tga etc. Makes a big difference in performance.
Cinema then dont have to unpack each and every frame for playback.

To make a long story short. Use the example files as a template.
Make sure your clip is the same length as the scene.
-Allways- use picture series for animated material.
If your scene differs in length from the example, delete the last “movieStartFrame” Key and set a new one at the last frame of your scene.
(If your scene is 241 frames, Key that.)
Change the “MovieEndFrame” to one -less- than your scene (240).
FrameRate have to be “1” or your render will not match.
Note, the second last frame -will- be wrong. (Don’t ask)

The Xpresso setup -sort- of work.
The 10comm -sort- of work better. -Plus- it caches the animation so you can shuffle back and forth in more than real time.
If possible use the Background Object instead. That does work.
And post to Maxon about this.
    Thats all I can say.

    Cheers

With DiCloner you add the material to any object in the ObjectManager. You can put it on the DiCloner Object so you know where it is or on the plane to be used. It doesn’t “do” anything to the DiCloner Object.

You then drag that textureTag from that object into the TextureField of DiCloner.
To be clear, you don’t drag the actual Material from that MaterialManager. You first have to make a textureTag from it.

In the Texture settings of DiCloner there is a dropdown thingy where you specify what channel you want to use. So if you have put your picture in the Color channel in the Material to start with, use Color channel, it’s the default as well I think.
You might have to adjust the projection of the material to make it look OK.
Temporarely disable the DiCloner and you’ll see the material on the plane.

There is another plugin that is more targeted for lights called LUMEN. Found at http://www.3dattack.com. It is very good as well.
(Even thou DiClooner can do most of it )

DiClooner is a multitask plugin by https://www.remotion.de.vu/.

I applied the the texture on the planes and the lights then take the color from the polygon it is duplicated on.
You can use primitives as well.
Volumetric square lights with “No light emission” then a second set of regular open spots (on a less subdivided plane) that also takes
the color from the same texture. These are not visible but cast the light out in the scene.

Did you try the RollON set? It’s made for this. Took me 2min to make what you described.

Hide Guides (the visible guiding sphere)

Make a Cylinder with radius 200 (default for RollON) Hight i.e 20. Set axis to X. Drop it in the RollON.
Draw a spline where the coin will be traveling. Drop that in RollON.
    Animate start and end position.
    Animate wobble.
Animate the wobble compensation so the coin doesnt go thru the floor.
Adjust EaseIN|OUT as well as Start and End if needed to adjust the absolute end postion of the coin.

I produced content for that system earier this year 🙂 In Ukraine for the EurovisionSongContest. Yes they are bright, very bright.

The way I did pre -production preview was to use DiClooner for mass duplicating square parallel lights placed on planes. Put the content as texture and the lights showed the content as it would later look using MiPix.

For me, 9 times out of 10, this happens if the result is in use anywhere. Either opened in another program or if active in Finder (I’m on Mac) and thus used
by Finder for previewing the file.

Use no codec (none or animation) or better render to pictseries ( tga, psd etc.) when rendering out of Cinema or you loss all quality.
Do your thing in AE, save to lossles again and if on Mac do the codec using QT-Pro, else do the codec with AE in parallel with the no-codec. (That way AE render both at the same time. See AE docs how to do that.)

There is an example scene over here:
    https://homepage.mac.com/tcastudios/TCA%20CINEMA.html

Item012. It shows how to make it by either using a part of the 10comm plugin by Tools4D.com ( you need that plugin of coarse)
and by using a expresso setup. Both work pretty much the same, 10comm having the advantage that it casches the move after one play so it plays allmost real time.

In my experience, using picture series instead of streaming movies makes the playback and speed of the editor go -much- faster.
    Cinema treats pictseries better.
