I moved from Carrara to Cinema and there is one feature in Carrara that is very helpful that I haven’t found in Cinema. Carrara has a collision detection feature that is great for placing objects on other objects, like putting a lamp on a table. With the feature turned on, you just move the lamp down to the table until it stops moving. The program detects that the lamp is now sitting on the table and stops moving it for you. This is very helpful.

So do I just have to eye it or look up the coordinates of my objects to know if an object is sitting on another object versus sitting a little through the object or above the object?

    Thank you so much!

There is no native function for that, but head over to:
    https://www.c4dplugs.com
and get “DropIt” and “DropTo Floor”. Works great and both are free.

Take a look at the other stuff as well, this is the place where most avaible plugins and stuff for Cinama are gathered.

    Cheers
