[Emil Seman] “But what is better on interlaced video?”
It contains more lot motion information, because it means
50 half frames per second. If you’re watching your video on a TV, you’ll see a much smoother move if you keep it interlaced.
[Emil Seman] “But deinterlaced video doesn’t have stripes when i am playing it on computer.”
Don’t care for the stripes, if you look at the DV-Avi.
If you end up in a DVD, which is interlaced, your player software will do the deinterlacing when you’re playing it.And if you watch it on TV from a topdesk player, you’ll see the smoother move.
But if you always want to play it on the computer, render it to a progressive wmv, so Vegas does the deinterlacing for you during rendering.

Hi,
In the project properties setting check deinterlace method,
set it to “blend” or “interpolate”. Try a few seconds of rendering with each and see which works better. After that render your video to a progressive format, and deinterlacing is done.
But may I ask WHY do you want to deinterlace your video? Usually it’s better not to do it.
There’s no problem with your English, for many on this forum english is not the native language ( including me :)) )

File/Render As…
Choose filetype AVI.There’s a default template (uncompressed).
Press “custom” and check the settings wether they’re OK for you (audio settings, rendering quality, etc…)

Yes.
You can render uncompressed, that’s absolutely losless.
If you want some compression, but it must be losless, google for huffyuv, it’s a losless codec. In theory DV is not losless, but Vegas handles it in a way, so that it is practically losless. If you re-render a video, the untouched frames are just copied, and only the altered frames are really rendered (where you applied some effects, transitions, etc.).
I’m unaware of a “same as source” option in Vegas – I would say there isn’t any, but I may miss something…

some time ago I had similar problem with transitions that came with wax. No problem however with the builtin transitions.

[Vincent Croce] “but as mentioned in my first post, I had the project rendering set for “best”.”
Ooops.
Sometimes my poor english jokes me, sometimes I don’t read enough carefully.
🙁Sorry for the unnecessary post…

Hi,
one another idea:
if you render using “best”, everything is done by vegas
(deinterlace, bicubic upsizeing etc.)When you render it using only “good” deinterlace may not be done, and upsizeing is linear instead of bicubic (if I remember corretly).
So, if you set up the correct deinterlace method, it may be ignored when not using the “best” quality render.
Just try it 😉
DSE is most probably right with the correct deinterlace method.

Hi,
check the “deinterlace method” in the project settings.
Because you zoom with pan/crop, deinterlacing must be done, and if you set deinterlace method to “none” that’s a fault.
Another option, that instead of zooming, make a black line over the head switching noise. This will have the advantage, that yoiu don’t need to deinterlace, so preserving motion information.Regards

January 19, 2008 at 12:09 pm in reply to: Understanding “parent” tracks and compositing modes…You could buy Gary Kleiner’s tutorials.
Or if you don’t want that look at the manuals
(download them https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/step1.asp?CatID=12 from here)If I remember correctly, you can read about the subject under the advanced editing techniques.

[Rorania Farrell] “what I use since Render As likes to offset my audio”
Could you please explain this a little bit?
(I suspect you’re working with badly captured footages).Regards
