Andrew thanks for sharing my request with the facebook group.
My issue solved itself!
I restarted the computer twice, and nothing changed. But the opening and closing of two different projects in someway kicked the ColorFX preferences back into sync and now everything is in the window….INCLUDING the new ones I had created when I could only see the base set. Very strange indeed.
Many thanks for reaching out, you’re an awesome resource!

Just a quick chime-in here….. Regarding export by ref, I have found an odd chroma shift at the entry and exit points of a composition track (word graphics) only when exporting “by reference”. I would be careful and watch for that happening in your final file export rendering.
Michael, I too always export ProRes 422 as a Master file (in addition to backing up all project files) for archive purposes. Kind of like the BetacamSP master tapes we use to run of a completed project in the 90’s.

I contacted M100 in Sept2013 as I needed to edit on location in Vegas during a client’s conference there. M100 gave me a second license for my Mac Laptop to run on at no cost as part of my original software purchase. Using a portable 1TB G-Tech Drive, I was cutting footage from my Sony F3 with ease as the Bellagio water fountain blasted outside my balcony. The software worked flawlessly, my client was very impressed with the final piece and I continued to make good money with my M100!

Hello Michael:
Back in the 1990″s Marianna Morley was the Manager of Service and Support and towards the end of her time at M100 she held the position of Customer Advocate. She was always supporting her customers above and beyond, a person that really cared about us. Coming from Apple she knew her stuff. Since 2001 Marianna (Morley) Montague has been with Avid.

If I were you……I’d get an extra job, cut back, save and buy a Sony PMW-100. There is a $500 rebate until end of this year. The extra cost will be nothing when you spread it over the next 10+years you use it. (I was thinking you already owned a HVR-V1u)

I purchased the V1u back in 2007 because it could shoot everything from miniDV in wide and full screen to DVCAM to HDV all in 60i/30p/24p it was Sony’s first 24p camera. Back then clients were asking for 24p all the time. Although I now shoot with an amazing PMW-F3 with Sony’s 18-252 zoom – the trusty old V1u still has a place because two years ago I purchased a Sony MRU.

This little recorder is really solid. For the HVR-V1u, it fits to the cold shoe mount at the top of the camera. No need for tape any more and you can get 72minutes of record time on one 16gb Compactflash card. You’ll need “Clipwrap” software to convert the m2t files to AppleProRes422 or another codec. Keep in mind the HDV spec is only 1080×1440

I just had this happen to me yesterday. I imported a file which unfortunately changed my ProRes codec to the M100HD codec. After import I could not get the codec to go back to ProRes. I finally just quit the program and M100 application. After I re-opened my program I was able to choose my codec without issue. So in conclusion I would say if your import codec selection locks up, just save all and restart.

Thanks for checking on my issue with your system Jaeson. I see you have the 12core MacPro. I went with the 8core with 8gb of ram last May because the speed bump from 8 to 12 didn’t seem to be that much. Do you notice increased speed with the 12core?? I’m still at OS 10.6.7 M100 2.1 as I have some old M100 projects that I still need to access.
