Wrong Codec in Import Dialog
Hello Everyone,
I am using Media 100 2.1 on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8.
I’m trying to import clips into my project, which is Standard Def. I don’t use HD footage. For some reason, Media 100 insists on importing all new video with the Media 100 HD 8-bit codec. Clicking on the Codecs button and choosing anything else doesn’t change this. Changing the Codecs around in Project Settings doesn’t help either. I’m not sure how to correct this issue. If anyone has any insight, that would be appreciated.-Rob

Try changing your VIDEO INPUT to SD.

Magically, the problem has fixed itself this morning. I wish I had a more conclusive answer to my problem, but it will have to remain a mystery for now.

I just had this happen to me yesterday. I imported a file which unfortunately changed my ProRes codec to the M100HD codec. After import I could not get the codec to go back to ProRes. I finally just quit the program and M100 application. After I re-opened my program I was able to choose my codec without issue. So in conclusion I would say if your import codec selection locks up, just save all and restart.
